The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder announces the formation of the Rocky Mountain Lighting Academy (RMLA), which provides continuing education to professionals working in the lighting industry. The RMLA is an extension of the highly regarded lighting education program within Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, and the proceeds from its activities provide ongoing financial support for the undergraduate program.

The first continuing education program offered by the RMLA will be a Summer Lighting Course on June 18-21, 2013, on the CU-Boulder campus:

Four-day course that provides a solid theoretical background in lighting.
On-campus setting intended to foster an intense, focused educational experience.
Course designed and taught by renowned educational and lighting professionals.
Appropriately focused learning goals, which are informed by the developments in science, technology, energy conservation, and public expectations.
Content delivered using a mix of lecture, demonstration, laboratory work, computer exercises, and group discussion and problem solving.
Valuable and successful course that fulfills the educational needs of the lighting practitioner. Be prepared to be challenged!

The registration fee for the four day Summer Course is $3000. This fee includes lunches and dinners for the duration of the course as well as the cost of all printed and electronic materials presented to the attendees.

To register for the 2013 RMLA Summer Course, please complete the Online Registration Form, or you can complete the printed Registration Form.

Please note that the Summer Lighting Course is limited to 30 attendees. These 30 spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants outside the first 30 will have payment refunded and their name will be placed on a waitlist, giving them priority in the case of cancellations or future summer courses.
